Swansea Network 50+

The aim of the Network is to promote the welfare of people aged 50 and over, and to encourage them to take a full and active role in all areas of life across the City and County of Swansea.

To this end, it makes information available to this age group and provides a means for them to have their voice heard and to react to, comment on and influence the policies, initiatives and decisions which affect them locally, regionally and nationally.

Swansea Network 50+ was established in 2004 following the launch of the first phase of the Welsh Government's Strategy for Older People. The Network is supported by the City and County of Swansea's Older People's Strategy Grant from the Welsh Government.

Membership to the Network is free to any resident of the City and County of Swansea who is aged 50+.

As well as our individual membership the Network keeps a database of groups and organisations whose members are wholly or predominantly aged 50+.

The Swansea Network 50+ Reference Group

Network members who are able to give their time can join the Network Reference Group which represents and champions the interests and issues of older people. Their work is informed through the engagement mechanisms of the Network on The Swansea Ageing Well Planning Groups, The Swansea Strategy for Older People Plan and at other relevant meetings.

For further information on the Network you can contact the Access to Services Team on 01792 636736 or email 50plus@swansea.gov.uk.
