Council awarded Fostering Friendly status
Swansea Council has been recognised for the support it gives to staff who provide foster care for children.

Leading national charity The Fostering Network has awarded the council Fostering Friendly status.
This recognises policies the council has in place including up to five days paid leave to support in helping the child to settle into their home, to attend relevant meetings, to undertake training and for emergency circumstances arising from their role as a foster parent.
There are dozens of Fostering Friendly employers across the UK ranging from major businesses to charities and football clubs to local authorities.
The council's own foster service, Foster Wales Swansea, needs a diverse range of people with different skills and experiences to foster.
Council Cabinet member for Care Services, Louise Gibbard, said: "Swansea Council really values the contribution to the community made by all foster parents.
"We have adopted HR policies that recognises the commitment of our staff who provide foster care to support them with the challenges that their role as foster carers can sometimes bring.
"I'm very proud that this commitment has been recognised by The Fostering Network through the award of Fostering Friendly status."
