Us Girls and StreetGames

It's been a busy couple of months for the Sport and Health team in Swansea and with half-term almost upon us the planning and hard work doesn't stop there!

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting two sports camps during half-term at Penlan Leisure Centre, in conjunction with Freedom Leisure.

Us Girls (IS)
Our very popular Us Girls camp will take place on Tuesday 1st November where girls aged between 8 and 14 years can come together in a fun, friendly and non-judgemental environment to try out a range of different sports and activities including gymnastics, dance, swimming, badminton and multi sports.

Along with trying out new sports and activities the girls will have the opportunity to meet new friends and discuss topics relevant to them, such as, 'barriers to sport' and 'the importance of being active' . The Sport and Health team are dedicated to ensuring that all girls who attend the Us Girls camp are made to feel welcome, have fun and most importantly are given the confidence and belief in themselves to try new things and to step out of their comfort zones.

We are also really excited to share that our second StreetGames camp will be running on Thursday 3rd November also. This camp follows the same ethos as our Us Girls camp - fun, friendly and non-judgmental but it's open to both boys and girls aged between 8 and 14 years.

On the day, young people will have the opportunity to try mountain boarding, multi-sports, swimming, inflatables and more! It's sure to be a jam-packed day full of fun. Keep your eyes peeled as our StreetGames camps will be moving around the city, setting up at different locations each half term and school holiday. We will also be running community based sessions in the evenings so that young people can continue to be active and have fun in their local communities with their friends after school.
