Swansea's Stars shine in Birmingham!

Wow, what an amazing Commonwealth Games we've all been treated to!

We have been gripped by the games over the last few weeks and are sending our congratulations to all our local and Welsh athletes who have made us extremely proud.

Hasn't it been great to see so many athletes, coaches and support staff from Swansea right at the heart of the Team Wales Commonwealth Games campaign and we're sure that the whole of Swansea has been behind every one of our local representatives who have again put our amazing city on the map.

Anna Hursey

Over 50 representatives from Swansea donned the red of Wales in Birmingham, to compete in many sports including Hockey, Wrestling, Athletics, Swimming, Netball, Rugby Sevens, Table Tennis, Lawn Bowls, Triathlon, Track Cycling and Gymnastics.

And as always, many athletes have brought home some shiny new medals to add to their trophy cabinets at home or to be displayed in their local clubs or training facilities in Swansea!

There were bronze medals for Anna Hursey in Table Tennis, Eluned King and Will Roberts in Track Cycling, Medi Harris in Swimming and Harrison Walsh in Athletics!

On top of that, we also saw some stunning silver medal success for 2013 World Triathlon Champion and Swansea legend Non Stanford, in the Triathlon Mixed Team Relay as well Swansea based Gordon Llewellyn, Julie Thomas in the Para-Bowls, alongside their directors John Wilson and Mark Adams.

Well done for all your hard work, commitment and success! You all are a true inspiration for the next generation of athletes.
