Complex Learning Difficulties Team

The Complex Learning Difficulties Team offers advice and guidance to primary and secondary schools across Swansea for children / young people aged 3-19 years with complex learning needs.

The majority of children / young people in receipt of this service have levels of provision outlined on their Individual Development Plans and are supported in mainstream schools. Programmes of support for children / young people are developed and key staff are supported in implementing programmes.

Who works in the team?

The team is made of specialist teachers who are highly trained to support those with complex learning difficulties. It also includes a Manual Handling Training Officer who can train schools to support learners with complex physical needs.

How will they support my child?

They offer advice and support to children / young people, their families and schools. They can help provide programmes of support for children / young people and ensure that key staff are supported in implementing programmes.

How does my child / young person access the team?

You will need to speak to your child / young person's class teacher or Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo). They will be able to listen to your concerns and work out next steps.
