Take the plunge and sign-up for Swimathon 2025
Swansea swimmers are being urged to take the plunge and join the world's biggest charity fundraising swim at Wales National Pool Swansea.
Swimathon 2025 takes place in March and it'll be the 17th year the pool has taken part in an initiative that raises hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK.
Jeremy Cole, General Manager at WNPS said: "Swimathon is really popular and over the years Swansea swimmers have raised tens of thousands of pounds for good causes at the national pool
"This is our 17th year supporting the event which is backed by our staff as well as many of our customers.
Mr Cole said: "Although lots of people see the WNPS as a place where swimmers seeking their place among the elite come to train, we're a community pool too, offering a great place to local people to get fit and socialise.
"The popularity of the event just grows every year. This time we will be holding sessions over the weekend to make sure that everyone who wants to participate gets the chance to join in.
"You don't have to be a budding Olympic or Paralympic champion to get involved. Quite a few people do it because family members or friends have experienced cancer and it's their way of showing support for them and for the two charities."
Swimathon takes place on from Friday March 28 to Sunday March 30 at WNPS and 460 other venues across the UK.
If you can't make it that weekend there's a MySwimathon Virtual Challenge which takes place between March 21 and April 6 at venues of your choice.
Established in 1986 and with £60m raised for charity so far, you can be part of next year's effort by registering at Swimathon.org/participants/register or to find out more about the Wales National Pool go towww.walesnationalpoolswansea.co.uk
