He completed 10,000 sponsored push-ups - thousands of them in fancy dress - in just 20 days and invited sponsorship to help the Swansea Bay Health Charity.

By the time his 20-day challenge ended he had raised £3,025.

Fitness fan Tim said: "Thanks to all those who backed me in any way - their donations will go to a very good cause indeed.

"The charity directly helps those working in and those being supported by our wonderful local health service.

"The money will all be spent in this area on things we could all benefit from at some time. It'll fund items that are additional to the materials and services already provided through government funding.

"Local NHS professionals will decide how the money will be used to best benefit our NHS and vulnerable patients."

Tim, aged 43, of Sketty, Swansea, normally works for the Social Services Tackling Poverty team as a Swansea Working coordinator, helping people get back into work and showing how to get other support.

Right now, like hundreds of Swansea Council staff, he's working in a new role to help the community tackle coronavirus. He's helping with important activities such as food deliveries.

As the fight against coronavirus took hold, he decided to put is passion for fitness to better use.

Each push-up in his 10,000 challenge was done at home with partner Catrin offering support.

His fancy dress creations celebrated figures such as Captain Tom Moore, comic book and movie characters, and key workers such as delivery personnel, builders, those in the emergency services and council staff.

Alyson Pugh,a council cabinet member for better communities, congratulated Tim. She said: "I'm really proud of Tim - what an achievement! It's one more example of how the council's staff are here for Swansea."
