The Sir Harry Secombe Trust

The youth theatre group hold classes and performances at Swansea Grand Theatre

The Sir Harry Secombe Trust youth theatre group was founded in memory of Sir Harry Secombe in 2002, by Louise Cohen and Robert Francis-Davies. The trust was set-up with the intention of providing the youth of Swansea and the surrounding areas the opportunity to receive the benefits of qualified tution in musical theatre and to further themselves in the performing arts.

Since it's formation the group, a non-profit making trust, has gone from strength to strength, and stages two full-scale productions a year on the main stage of Swansea Grand Theatre. They also perform several smaller productions in the smaller Depot Theatre space in the theatre's Arts Wing. At present the group has around 120 pupils and a continuous waiting list. The ages range from 6yrs - 12 yrs (Juniors) and 13yrs - 18yrs (Seniors).

The group also offers a bursary scheme for those who wish to further themselves within the arts. Many of their members have benefitted from this. The scheme is also open to non-members under the age of 21yrs, who live in Swansea or the surrounding areas, and whose intention it is to pursue further education within the performing arts. All allocations of bursary are made at the discretion of the trustees.
