In March 2021 Bishopston Primary School received £4,955 from Swansea RDP Local Area Group to develop a nature area for outdoor learning, which could be used every day as a study area for the children.
Work is under way on the project to transform two areas of unused amenity grassland in a way that will encourage increased biodiversity and community cohesion.
The aim of the project is to document the heritage and traditions of farming and land-based work in Gower and Rural Swansea, so that our agricultural past and communities are not lost but understood and appreciated by future generations to come.
Gower Flax CIC is a research, growing and education hub, located at Hardingsdown Farm, Llangennith which received £50,000 of RDP LEADER funding in August 2021.
Down to Earth is an award winning social enterprise with a 15 year track record in supporting people to bring about positive change in their lives through meaningful outdoor activity.
In December the Gower Pilgrimage Way and Festival Project was awarded funding from the Rural Development Programme.
Y-Future Swansea's youth coordinators Katy and Zubs attended COP26 with two young people from Swansea, with the help of funding from Swansea RDP.
In March 2020 Big Meadow CSA received a grant of £30,000 from the RDP Leader Fund. As the project comes to a close we highlight the impact that the project has had on the rural community.
