Join in the festive fun at new community hub

There is an open invitation to a free community Christmas Party in Dyfatty

Dyfatty Community Hub

On Monday December 19 the Safer Swansea partnership is organising the event that will have musical entertainment from local choirs, light refreshments, Christmas craft activities and advice and support.

It will run from 10am until noon in the row of former derelict shops at Greenhill Parade that has been brought back to life for community use by Swansea Council.

The festive event will be another opportunity for residents and community groups to have a look around and learn about the opportunities now on offer.

One of the units is set to become a café while the other two are bookable spaces suitable for a variety of uses.

They are being used by support services and have also hosted community events including a Halloween Party, a movie night and a dog day.

Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Supporting Communities Alyson Pugh said: "I'm so proud of the transformation that has taken place at these buildings - what was once a row of run down empty shops is now an amazing community space.

"There is an open invitation to this community event and we hope to see lots of people there to enjoy the musical performances and the countdown to Christmas."
