Funding available to tackle food poverty
A new round of capital only funding is available to support charities, community groups and other organisations that tackle food poverty and food insecurity in Swansea.

The grants could be used for purchasing capital items including: fridges, freezers and cooking equipment, improving storage or buying equipment to support local food growing and distribution.
Projects could include for example: social supermarkets, community cafes, lunch clubs, community cookery classes, food banks and community growing initiatives.
Organisations have until Monday July 8th to apply and can do so by visiting: www.swansea.gov.uk/directfoodsupportfund
Due to the high volume of interest expected it is suggested that applications are limited to up to £1,850.
Any group wishing to discuss an application before submitting it, are welcome to contact the Tackling Poverty Development Team email: tacklingpoverty@swansea.gov.uk
