Presented by BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales', the event offers an alternative way to enjoy classical music, aiming to deliver an accessible, enveloping experience that showcases a wide variety of music in a more relaxed listening environment.

Featuring a varied programme of music over three stages, audiences can expect a truly immersive experience from symphony orchestra, chorus, chamber line-ups, solo numbers and unaccompanied choral masterpieces.

With the majority of the venue's seating removed, audience members are able to stand, sit or lie on the floor, or walk around with a drink during the performance

You can get up close to the musicians and soloists in promenade performances and spotlight moments including one of the world's leading saxophonists Amy Dickson, pianist Huw Watkins and and organist Huw Williams.

The evening will feature beloved and well-known music including Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations, Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights from Romeo & Juliet, Wagner's The Ride of the Valkyries, Orff's O Fortuna from Carmina Burana and Sir Karl Jenkins' Palladio.Other composers featured include Bruckner, Copland, Mozart and Ravel.

With nearly 200 musicians from BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and a special performance by the Six Counties Youth Strings Orchestra, this event is one for all the family and perfect for anyone looking to try classical music for the first time.

Family tickets cannot be purchased online.

Swansea Fringe Festival 2019

This event makes up part of the whole 2019 Swansea Fringe Festival, which also includes Superheroes in Castle Square and the The Swansea Fringe.
