Registers of civilian deaths due to war operations

Digital copies of the two registers that record details of the casualties in Swansea and Port Talbot

Register of Civilians
When war was declared in July 1939, local authorities across the country worked hard to prepare for the possibility of air raids and civilian casualties. As part of this, records were kept of civilian deaths due to war operations. These consist of printed forms which could be bound together in a register when completed. The registers for Swansea and Port Talbot survive and are held by the Archive Service. We have digitised them below.
