Sex shop + cinema licence
If a premises operates as a sex shop or sex cinema it will require a licence from us.
Sex shops are any premises selling sex toys, books or videos. A sex cinema is a venue which shows explicit films to members of the public.
The licence includes conditions to maintain public safety and decency and also restrict admission to over 18 year olds. Applicants must also give public notice of their application by publishing an advertisement in a local newspaper.

You must complete the application form in full. You will need to pay the application fee when you submit your form.
You must submit your fee with the application.
If you apply by post you should make cheques payable to 'City and County of Swansea' and send it with your completed form.
If you choose to pay by credit card, an additional charge of 2% will be added to your payment.

Please note the following amendments to the Sex Establishment Policy
- Page 24 - definition of 'Relevant Entertainment' the word "display of" to be inserted on the first line between the words "live" and "nudity".
- Page 26 - paragraph 3.3 (d) (iii) final word "made" to be replaced with "determined".
In some situations any applicant who is refused a certificate or who wishes to appeal against a condition attached to their certificate can appeal to their local Magistrates' court within 21 days of the decision.
