Welcome to the Research & Information Unit homepage, the place to come for information and statistics about Swansea.

Research & Information is a central corporate service with primary responsibility for:

  • Dissemination and analysis of Census and other socio-economic statistics within the Council
  • Council Geographical Information Systems (GIS), mapping and aerial photography
  • Specialist bespoke research advice and assistance on a wide range of Council and external projects
  • Designing and undertaking questionnaire surveys
  • Undertaking land use surveys
  • Development and management of important Council databases
