Park Wood

Park Wood is a popular woodland (164 hectares in area) situated within the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It is a wood of majestic and mature oak, ash and conifer trees, home to buzzards, woodpeckers, nuthatch, lesser and greater horseshoe bats and a wealth of other wildlife.

There are also many archeologically valuable sites here, covering 14,000 years. The site is designated a geological and biological SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), as well as having ash woods of European importance.

Footpaths

Park Wood is open access land. There are also several rights of way through the site which are sign posted.

Car

Access the woods from the minor road signed to Parc le Breos, leading off main south Gower Road (A4118).

Bus

The Gower Explorer bus operates regular buses to Parkmill. Get off the bus at Shepherds stores by the Gower Heritage Centre.
