Mynydd Cadle Common

Mynydd Cadle Common is located on the urban fringe of Penderry.

The common is dominated by marsh/marshy grassland, which encompasses a number of Biodiversity Action Plan priority habitats and species.

There are several small ponds and watercourses running through the site. The common is next to Mynydd Newydd Playing Fields. It also neighbours Penlan Leisure Centre and Penlan Comprehensive School.

Highlights

Views from the higher part of the site down the Loughor Estuary towards Whiteford Burrows. Look out for birds such as skylarks and meadow pippit. Rare plants such as bog asphodel, round-leaved sundew, lousewort and southern marsh orchids are present here.
