Stage 3 PC intermediate: moving on with your PC (free course)

A 10 week course aimed at increasing the skills of IT learners who have a general understanding with some experience of computers and their uses.

This course will continue to enhance your confidence in successfully using computers to benefit you and your interests. You will develop a better understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications with their various features, particularly copying, pasting, formatting, editing and printing. Refresh your internet browsing and internet security skills while exploring the benefits and opportunities of social networking. You will also be able to develop further your skills and understanding on PC security, backing up files, control panel settings and the Windows task bar.

  • Working with MS applications
  • Backing up and organising your files
  • Computer settings and personalising Windows

Who is it suitable for?

This course is an ideal follow on from Stage 2 PC improvers: improve your PC skills (free course), but equally suitable for those with some experience who wish to develop a better understanding that will help them use their computers more confidently.

10 week course. The first week will involve an information, advice and guidance session to consider course and workshop choices and their suitability to meeting learner needs.

What will you need?

Computers will be available for this course. All resources for printing will also be provided. A memory stick may also be useful. A notebook and pen will be helpful for recording notes.

How much will it cost?

This course is free to attend but learners must enrol to secure a place in advance.
