Mentro Allan![]() Mentro Allan is a collection of projects in Wales which target specific groups that are generally less active than the wider population and that face specific barriers to participation. In Swansea the programme focuses on carers, specifically: young carers, parent carers, BME carers, carers of people with mental health problems, and carers of the elderly. Mentro Allan is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and a national partnership and aims to utilise the nation's parks, paths, trails, waterways, coasts and countryside as a location for exercise and physical activity. It is the intention to increase the likelihood of people incorporating these activities into manageable lifestyle routines. Currently on offer is a mixed provision of activities ranging from low level walks, pilates, gentle exercise, dance and cycling. Mentro Allan Swansea has set up a number of activities throughout the city which can be seen on our latest timetable. All activities are set up through consultation with carers and sessions are evaluated to ensure we are meeting the needs of the carers involved.
