The supervised contact team is looking to recruit part time (18.5 hours) Supervised Contact Worker who will supervise contacts between children and their families. The service aims to deliver high quality supervised contact session between children who are accommodated and their families where it is Court directed or in cases where there is a clearly defined need for supervision of the sessions. The service is designed to enable children to maintain consistent and reliable contact with their families through times of crisis or particular risk. The family’s circumstances will be the subject of Social Services intervention, assessment and Court proceedings. Contact sessions are supervised to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.

The Development and Outreach service are looking to appoint a Streesports activity worker to be involved in the practical delivery of sport and physical activity sessions for young people throughout targeted areas of the City & County of Swansea.

The role will involve the provision of appropriate community based sporting opportunities for children and young people, all year round during term times, regular evenings, school holidays and the occasional weekends.

This includes the transportation and set up of a trailer based skate ramp, regular equipment and activity risk assessment checks and the supervision of young people during sessions. Experience of sport coaching, youth work or community development work would be advantageous.

Do you have a passion for swimming? Wales National Pool Swansea are looking for 3 Part-Time Swimming Teachers due to Aqua School’s recent programme expansion.

Within this role you will support the Aqua School Co-ordinator in the efficient, effective and economic delivery of the lesson & aquatic fitness programme for children and adults.

You should have a level 2 teaching aquatics qualification and experience teaching the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. For this role you will need to enjoy working with members of the public, be friendly, experience working with Children/Adults with disabilities.

If successful you will need to be able to commit to a 10.5hrs (Tues/Fri/Sun), 10hrs (Sat/Sun) or 8.5hrs (Fri/Sun) part-time contract.

Community Care Assistant - Long Term Service

We are seeking to appoint Community Care Assistants to join a well established Home Care Team, offering 25 working on a rota basis over 7 days, mornings and evenings, including weekends and bank holidays.

The successful candidates will have the attributes needed to undertake the range of duties associated with the post, including:

• Excellent communication both oral and written
• An ability to provide a high standard of personal care and support to people within their own home and to function as part of a team
• A commitment to support the authorities reablement agenda

The successful candidates will be offered to work in any one of the following service areas:

A time limited service that aims to provide an assessment for adults living in the City and County of Swansea who are deemed as needing a package of Domiciliary Care. To promote independence, ensure people have packages of care tailor made to meet their individual needs and to enable as many people as possible to remain at home longer.

The Long Term Service is a well established Service having been in place since the 1960’s. Although at it’s inception it was known as the Home Help service and was more about providing people with some Domestic support, it has over time developed more into what is known now as the Home Care Service. Our remit now concentrates more on the provision of personal Care and more about supporting people to remain at home whilst promoting independence.

RESIDENTIAL CARE ASSESSMENT SERVICE (RCAS): step up, step down is a provision that support Adults who have been deemed as requiring Long Term Residential Care, but wish to remain in their own home, but need a short period of care and support to make this a possibility. This can include people who are currently at home, but in need of extra support. This part of the service is linked to assessment beds and the team work in and out of the assessment unit enabling a robust assessment for individuals.

INTEGRATED GOWER CARE TEAM (IGCT) is a joint initiative between Swansea Council’s Social Services and the ABMU Health Board. Health & Social Care staff from both organisations work together to provide care and support to Gower residents.
The support will include:

• Re-ablement support for people who have experienced a period of ill health
• long-term domiciliary care (e.g. personal care)
• Continuing Health Care support
• end of life care
• a response service which provides care at home in an emergency.
These posts will provide practical help, support and reablement to a range of people including younger [over 18] and older people whose physical disability / illness means daily living tasks are a problem.

We will offer you a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training. You will receive regular supervision and attend supportive team meetings. You will also be provided with a uniform and footwear.

The ability to travel within the County is essential. You will need to have access to your own transport and telephone.
