Have your say about the future of the Gallery

Invited speakers will present a series of three talks looking at artists from the Glynn Vivian collection, and the complex relationship with War. In association with Swansea Remembers.

From the Sacred Mountain to the Gates of Hell: Augustus John, War Artist

Join art historian and artist Barry Plummer, who will discuss the life of Augustus John.

Thursday 31 July

5.30pm - 6.30pm

Join Arts Director of the Arts Council of Wales, David Alston, as he compares and contrasts the lives of Paul Nash and David Jones.

Thursday 21 August

5.30pm - 6.30pm

Simply What You Call a Passivist: Mark Gertler, the Merry-Go-Round and the First World War

Join curator of Ben Uri Gallery, Sarah MacDougall, as she discusses Mark Gertler's anti-war protest painting and related works, with reference to his relationships with other contemporary artists.

This is your opportunity to help us build a successful gallery for generations to come.

All activities are free. Everyone welcome, no booking required.

Events take place at the YMCA, Swansea.
