Oystermouth Castle sits majestically on a hill overlooking Swansea Bay with stunning views over Mumbles. A massive amount of work has taken place in recent years to stitch the castle structure back together making it safe and sustainable for the foreseeable future. The castle comes to life throughout the year with battle re-enactments from throughout the ages.
The remains of the castle is situated on what was a cliff next to the river Tawe originally – the site is now surrounded by modern buildings which provide a contrast between the old and the modern. The castle has undergone some work in recent years but is only open occasionally to visitors.
There's more information on other castles and heritage sites in the area on the Visit Swansea Bay website.
