Apply to become a Citizens' Panel Member
Who Can Apply?
Anyone over the age of 16 who lives in the City & County of Swansea can apply to join the Panel. Unfortunately, Council staff and Councillors are not eligible to join the Citizens' Panel.
What does it involve?
Panel Members are asked to give their views about Council services and issues affecting their local area and the wider City and County. The time commitment is small, we estimate 10-15 minutes per survey, 3 to 4 times a year. Panellists can choose to complete questionnaires on paper or over the Internet. They may also be asked if they would like to take part in focus groups or discussion groups.
Interested in Applying to Join the Panel?
To apply to join the Panel, please click on the link below - you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire to provide some details about you and your household so that we can ensure that the Panel membership remains representative of the County population.
The details you provide will be stored securely and protected in accordance with the Data Protection Act by the Council and the local Research Company (Opinion Research Services) who manage the maintenance of the Panel database on our behalf.
What happens next?
If you complete the on-line application form, your details will be checked against current Panel requirements and you will be contacted to confirm whether you have been accepted onto the Panel. Please be aware that because we need to maintain the Panel as a representative sample of the County's population, we are not always able to immediately accept everyone who applies, but we will keep your details in reserve until a suitable vacancy arises.
