Population statistics for Swansea

The latest estimate of the population of the City and County of Swansea stands at 229,100 (Mid Year Estimate, 2008). Swansea has the third highest population of the 22 Welsh Unitary Authorities, representing almost 8% of the total population of Wales (2,993,400). The 2008 Mid Year Estimates were released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on 27 August 2009.
