The chapel was built in 1842, rebuilt in 1862 and extended in 1914. Due to a decline in numbers the chapel was sold in the mid-1990s and the congregation continued to meet in the chapel vestry situated on the corner of Sidney Street and Eaton Road, Brynhyfryd. The church was closed in May 2002.
