Other Building Control ServicesOur Building Control team offer a number of other services including plan checking, inspecting sports grounds and dealing with dangerous structures. The division deals with reports of dangerous buildings or structures.
 To make way for new buildings it is sometimes necessary to demolish existing ones and The Building Control Division has a role to play here.
 Many of the historical records of existing buildings are archived in the department
 Plans or drawings for proposed schemes are submitted to the Council to be checked for compliance with the Building Regulations before work is started.
 The building control division deals with the issue of General and Special Safety Certificates in relation to designated sports stadia in the Councils area.
