Road Safety

image depicting Road Safety Logo

Our objective is safety on our roads and to reduce the number of people injured or killed on our roads.

We do this largely through public education (particularly in Schools),and by taking an active part in National Road Safety Campaigns and by providing a School Crossing Patrol Service at the City's busiest Schools.

In addition to this we gather information and statistics relating to road accidents and use that knowledge to focus on sites which are most at risk.

We are then able to explore the possibility of using engineering works to help resolve or alleviate problems at risk sites
