Coroner's Office

image depicting Coroner's Office

Coroners inquire into deaths reported to them which appear to be violent, unnatural, or of sudden and unknown cause.

The Coroner will seek to establish the medical cause of death. If the cause remains in doubt after a post mortem, an inquest will be held.

Her Majesty's Senior Coroner for Swansea and neath Port Talbot is Philip Rogers.

The Coroner's Office is located at the Civic Centre, Oystermouth Road, Swansea, SA1 3SN.

Telephone: (01792) 636237
Fax: (01792) 636603

A Ministry of Justice leaflet "A Guide to Coroners and Inquests" may be obtained from the Coroner's Office.  This leaflet provides information for the next-of-kin and their families in the hours and days immediately after a sudden death, where the Coroner is involved.
