Children's Play Strategy for Swansea

image depicting Skateboarding

The 'Children's Play Strategy for Swansea' was launched on November 20th 2003, by Peter Clarke, Children's Commissioner for Wales, who highly commended the Strategy in his launch speech.

The Strategy recognises the importance of play for all children and young people living within the Swansea area and identifies elements that are needed to ensure that there is a comprehensive play service for all children and young people.

Following a Consultation Event on March 21st, Swansea's Play Partnership have produced a draft Children's Play Strategy document. This document builds on the original Play Strategy, as well as the Welsh Assembly Government's Play Policy Implementation Plan. While the consultation event provided the main opportunity for input, local projects and individuals have until next Wednesday 22nd June, to comment on the draft. You can download a copy of the 'Children's Play Strategy for Swansea' by going to the top right hand corner of this page.

Any comments or queries should be sent to Stephen Cable, Children's Play Officer at Stephen.cable@swansea.gov.uk or 01792 635154.
