Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership![]() Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership is committed to reducing the number of people killed and injured on Welsh roads by reducing speed and traffic light violations. The partnership is made up of 22 Local Authorities, Four Police Forces, Magistrates Court and Welsh Assembly Government. This way the partnership brings together people with vast experience in road safety, law enforcement and the treatment of victims of road collisions, and can dedicate resources to making the roads safer. The partnership is responsible for red light and speed camera enforcement, but reducing casualties is not just about enforcing the law. The Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership is encouraging motorists to drive legally and safely through investing time and money into driver education, engineering improvements and targeting enforcement where it is needed most. Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership does not make any profit from speed and red light camera fines. Safety cameras are there to make roads safer not to make money. All fine revenue is passed to the Treasury. The partnership is funded by means of a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and there is no incentive to place cameras anywhere other than where they are needed to improve road safety. You can help too... By using your judgement and driving to the conditions of the road you can help cut casualties on our roads and make them safer for everyone. According to the Transport Research Laboratory, "An average reduction in speed of just 1mph would lead to a 5% reduction in collisions ." |
