These pages provide information about the Council's Housing Service

The City and County of Swansea manages approximately 13,555 properties through its Housing Services Unit and is one of the largest providers of housing in Wales. We have a mixture of properties - houses, flats, bungalows and sheltered housing schemes for the elderly, mainly clustered on estates all over the Swansea area. We provide the majority of our services through our nine District Housing Offices.

Housing advice and information, including homelessness prevention and assessment services are provided by our Housing Options service.

We also provide repair and disabled facilities grants and adaptations, deliver improvements in renewal areas and coordinate energy efficiency improvements across Swansea in all housing tenures.

The main responsibilities of the Housing Services Unit are:

  • The management of Council housing
  • The preparation of the Council's Housing Strategy
  • Improving the condition of private sector housing
  • Providing access to housing for a range of vulnerable groups (i.e. homeless, disabled etc.)

Please see the 'Your Housing Options' pages if you need help, advice or information about rehousing or your home - if you are having problems, need to move, are about to be evicted or if you are currently homeless.

If you rent your home from a private landlord, information and advice can be found in Private Rented Housing.

You can get information about Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit in Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction
