City Centre Strategic Framework![]() The City Centre Strategic Framework will facilitate and support development, transport, infrastructure and environmental enhancements within Swansea City Centre over the coming 10 - 15 years. The City Centre Strategic Framework was commissioned by the City and County of Swansea (CCS) and the Welsh Assembly Government on behalf of the Swansea City Centre Partnership (SCCP). A team of consultants led by Roger Tym and Partners, and including Donaldsons, Arup, BDP and Locum Consulting were engaged to prepare the Strategic Framework. The Strategic Framework is supported by an Executive Summary, Delivery Strategy and Action Plan, and Technical Appendices. It was the subject of public consultation in its draft form. Following amendment, it was adopted as policy by the City and County of Swansea in January 2007, and is now being implemented jointly by the Council and the Welsh Assembly Government. Proposals included in the City Centre Strategic Framework are informed by a carefully researched evidence base and analysis of the City Centre, and are ambitious but realistic and deliverable. There is a strong emphasis on making things happen. The Strategic Framework's Action Plan recognises that it will take 15 years to implement the proposals through a wide range of partners including the private sector. Swansea's aspiration is to become a distinctive European Waterfront City and a revitalised City Centre will contribute to this objective. The City Centre Strategic Framework provides guidance as to how City Centre regeneration will be achieved, generates confidence in the City Centre, and pays its part in delivering this overall aspiration.
