They award buildings for not just how it looks but also the processes that go on behind the scenes.It is the only award of its type to cover all forms of building construction. Schemes that are successful in Swansea's Building Excellence Awards are then able to progress to the regional South Wales awards and then to the National awards.

Nominations
Building Control surveyors nominate projects that consistently achieve high standards throughout the whole process. All the nominated schemes go that extra mile to ensure issues such as access, compliance with building regulations and health & safety are addressed.
Presentation
Previous ceremonies have taken place in Swansea's Marriott Hotel and the Liberty Stadium and are attended by owners, developers and architects from the nominated schemes, as well as our sponsors, LABC and members of Swansea Building Control. The 2009 awards were presented by Sarra Elgan.

Each winner is presented with a certificate and a specially engraved glass trophy. Certificates are also presented to the highly commended schemes and all finalists.
