Festival fun continues

New for the Summer Bay Festival in 2006 is the first Swansea Bay Film Festival taking place from the 3rd – 9th June at the Dylan Thomas Centre and the

Ongoing events include the Golden Gower exhibition at Swansea Museum which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Gower's status as the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,running until 13th August and the Oystermouth Music Society Lunchtime Recitals will continue every Wednesday until the end of August.

The Gower Walking Festival will begin on June 3rd with dozens of walks to choose from, there will be something for walkers of all ages and abilities.

If you don't like cricket, but love it, then be sure you don't miss the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy 1 day match between Glamorgan and Somerset on Sunday 4th June.

Also on Sunday 4th June is the Three Valleys Fun Cycle Ride. A 35-mile round trip sponsored cycle ride in aid of children's charities, the route goes east along

Fabian Way
across Briton Ferry Bridge and down onto Neath Canal to Aberdulais, Crynant and Ystradgynlais and is mostly on cycle paths along canals and rivers.

From Monday 5th to Saturday 10th June, Swansea Grand Theatre will host 'Abba Mania', the world's number one touring Abba tribute band will play all your favourites including; 'Mamma Mia', 'Winner Takes It All', 'Super Trouper' and many more at this fantastic show.

If you love the outdoors, and you love Shakespeare, then you will not want to miss the first of two 'Outdoor Shakespeare' productions at Oystermouth Castle. The thrilling 'Macbeth' will be held on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th June, a tale of unstoppable ambition, guilt and violence that will have you on the edge of your deckchair! Bring a picnic, warm and waterproof clothing and something to sit on for a wonderful evening's entertainment.

Still to come during June, The Gower Folk Festival, Evening Post Swansea Bay Stroll, Swansea Museum Classic Motorcycle Show, Escape Into the Park, National Transport Festival of Wales and the British Heart Foundation Junior Bike Ride.
