Swansea bus station plans approvedPlans to develop Swansea city centre bus station have taken another step forward following the approval of the planning application relating to the ambitious development. ![]() Swansea Council is set to develop the existing bus station under plans to drive public transport into the 21st century. The Council is already moving forward with plans to introduce Wales' first 'StreetCar' transportation system which has been developed by transport operator - First. The latest developments will ensure Swansea has one of the most efficient and effective integrated transport systems in Wales. Swansea Council Leader, Chris Holley said, "The transformation of the bus station into a 21st century gateway to the city will be a key part of our city centre strategy. "The Council is delighted to have reached the next phase in the redevelopment of the bus station. "The development will be one of the most modern transport facilities in the UK. The Council is keen to ensure that public transport in Swansea is made as easy and convenient as possible."
