Around 1500 properties in 10 housing areas are managed by Sketty District Housing Office. The areas covered are Dunvant, Three Crosses, Sketty, Scurlage, Rhosilli, Reynoldston, Penclawdd, Penmaen/Parkmill, Upper Killay, Bishopston/Murton and Gower North West. These areas fall within the Gower, Uplands, Penclawdd and Bishopston wards.
The majority of council accomodation is traditional houses and flats with three blocks of high rise flats in Sketty. In the area are bedsits, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom flats and maisonettes, 2 and 3 bedroom houses and 1 and 2 bedroom sheltered flats and bungalows.

There are small pockets of local shops within many of the housing areas and Sketty hosts a wider selection of shops.
There are a variety of leisure activities on offer within the Gower area including walking, pony trekking, cycling and water sports. Clyne Gardens and Singleton park are near to Sketty and offer picturesque walks through their grounds. Clyne Valley Country Park also has a cycle track running through it.
