What Areas Does The Office Cover?
This office covers 7 housing areas on the east of the City and County of Swansea, which include Birchgrove Old, Birchgrove New, Talycoppa, Trallwn, Winch Wen, Port Tennant and St Thomas which are located in the Llansamlet, Bonymaen and St Thomas wards.
At present there are around 1700 council properties in the area. The area contains a mixture of houses, flats, bungalows and sheltered accommodation. There are 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses, 1 and 2 bedroom flats and bedsits in the area. There are also 1 and 2 bedroom sheltered flats in Birchgrove, St Thomas and Port Tennant and bungalows in Port Tennant.
What Facilities Are In The Area?
Many community groups and organisations operate within the area. Bonymaen, Birchgrove, Trallwn, Llansamlet, Port Tennant and St Thomas Community Centres are the base for many groups and activities. For more information telephone Community Buildings on 01792 635412.

The Bonymaen Family Centre, based at the former Cwm Primary School, Mansel Road in Bonymaen provides advice and support for families within the Eastside area. The centre runs many groups such as an under 5s toddler group, after school clubs, holiday playscheme, and adult education classes. There are many sporting and recreational facilities in the area. Cefn Hengoed Leisure Centre, on Caldicot Road, Winch Wen is an important part of the local community. As well as leisure and recreational facilities, the centre also provides the opportunity for many local young people to sample a career in the leisure industry.

Kilvey Community Woodland also provides leisure activities and picturesque walks and views. There is also a cycle track along the River Tawe and a fishing lake. There are also a number of small local parks.
There are a number of convenient local shops, GP surgeries and dentists within the area covered by the Eastside District Housing Office. The Eastside area is close to major retailers, based at Lakeside Park within the Enterprise Zone along with numerous hotels and restaurants. The Swansea Enterprise Zone is also a location for major national employers within the area.
