Exhibition film In Colombian society and indeed globally, mass migration is arguably one of the most important phenomena in effecting social and cultural change. The constant movement of Colombia's people from one part of the country to another has a huge effect on the social and political structure and on people's everyday lives. Mass migration occurs for various reasons such as violence between warring factions, political and social events, changes to natural resources and because people are searching for better standards of living. The huge changes this mass migration has on Colombian culture are touched on in different ways by all of the artists in this exhibition. There will be a series of artists' talks and events to accompany this exhibition, for further information please contact the gallery. Originated by Glynn Vivian Art Gallery With generous support from the Colombian Embassy, Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, |
