Recycling Sites
Make your efforts count by placing things in the proper containers. When you save your recyclable materials to take to one of the many recycling points across the county make sure you put all the materials into the proper containers. We do our utmost to make sure all the containers are emptied regularly but if any of them are full please take the material away and return on another day. If you leave bags of recyclable materials on the ground around the banks or on top of banks it will be collected by our cleansing crews and end up in landfill. From Tuesday 6 December 2011 all Community Recycling Sites will be open 7 days a week from 8.30am - 5pm All Community Recycling Sites are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
Most of us undertake small DIY projects at home at some point or another with varying degrees of success! You will be left wondering what to do with the waste. Up to 3 small bags of rubble can now be taken free of charge to either Llansamlet, Tir John or Clyne Community Recycling Sites. Please note – only a maximum of 3 small bags of rubble can be taken to these sites at any one visit. Please check the list of all the sites on these pages for a comprehensive list of materials accepted at them. If a builder does the work he should either include the cost of a skip in the quote or take away the waste with him when he's finished. Please make sure he is a reputable builder and has the necessary licence to carry and dispose of this type of waste. If he is reputable, he won't mind showing you. If you have certain items like doors, radiators, sinks, taps etc that are in good condition why not try swapping them or giving them away on the swap shop at www.swansea.gov.uk/swapshop. For further information on recycling, please contact the recycling office on 01792 635600 or e-mail us at: recycling@swansea.gov.uk
