Youth Service![]() The Youth Service work with young people aged 11 - 25. This is done in a number of ways, through traditional club-based youth work to detached youth work, which takes place on the streets.The Youth Service is responsible for the training of all youth workers and this is achieved through the Professional Youth work Network (PYN). Community based Youth Clubs/Groups are open to all young people within the specified age range 11-25, but give priority to transition to adulthood in the 13-19 age range.
Detached Youth Work describes a style of working with young people and should be considered as an integral part of the spectrum of services to young people.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award aims to provide an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development for young people aged 14 to 25 which is of the highest quality and widest reach.

The Whole Schools & Communities team consists of a full time team leader and 5 part time youth workers managed by City & County of Swansea Youth Service and the areas covered are Pontarddulais (Dulais East) Gowerton & Gorseinon (Gorseinon East).
The Big Brother Experience is a 3 day, 2 night challenge. It is open to young people aged 13-14 years and 15-18 years.
