
Hafod is an area that has just benefited from a £10 million injection as part of a renewal project to restore some of the houses and amenities in the area. This walk allows you to witness some of these developments that have stretched over a 10 year period and are due to be completed in 2011. A gentle walk to be enjoyed with some minor inclines.
Directions
• Start at the community centre on Odo Street
• Head right towards the school and gap between the houses (Vivian Street and Odo Street)
• Once you have passed the houses, turn left past the bowls club and follow the path to the bottom of the road
• At the bottom of the path turn left along the road, past the Three Feathers public house
• Turn left into Cwm Road and follow the road to a bridge
• At the bridge, head up the ramp at the side of the bridge onto the main road
• Turn left at the top of the ramp heading along Neath Road towards the shops for about 10 metres
• Follow a path left into Aberdeberthi Street, up the slight incline, past the bollards
• Take the next turning left into Morgan Street past Coed Nant Clos
• Take the next right into Odo Street past Hafod Primary School and head back to the community centre
