We're encouraging our communities to grow their own food by funding a range of community-based growing projects with the aim of improving access to fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the city, particularly among those on lower incomes.

Who can apply?

Applications for grants, ranging from £250 to £5000, are open to community groups, organisations and schools either currently undertaking, or wishing to develop, growing-related projects within their locality.

What can be funded?

Grow Local Swansea grants can be used to fund many of the different costs community groups and growing projects face including:

  • Communal sheds and greenhouses 
  • Equipment and tools
  • Plants and seeds
  • Training
  • Site improvements e.g. fencing, water supply or upgrading paths
  • Development of after school growing clubs
