Food![]() The Food and Safety Section deals with food hygiene matters in certain businesses within the City and County of Swansea.They ensure that food premises in the area comply with food law and other regulations through the inspection of premises. A programme of food and shellfish sampling is also carried out. They also investigate food related complaints and infectious diseases The team also provides advice and training to local businesses and other interested parties. Copies of their advice leaflets can be found on this site. A detailed list of food hygiene trainers and courses is also provided. Other work covered by the section includes implementing the Welsh Food Hygiene award scheme in the area, publicising food hazard warnings, approving certain food processing premises and liasing with the Food Standards Agency Wales. They also work to promote the annual National Food Safety Week.
