Engineering workshop

The engineering facility at Gorseinon College gives an opportunity for people interested in engineering to attend for two hours each week at Gorseinon College.

A welcome is extended to people of all abilities from the novice to experienced engineers. Novices would have the opportunity to learn new engineering skills. Experienced engineers would have access to sophisticated engineering equipment that would enable them to carry out repairs or undertake a project build.

The needs of the individual are recognised and an individual learning plan has been generated to cater for the various abilities and demands of the group.

Novices begin by becoming acquainted with various engineering operations such as milling, lathe work shaping, drilling and the use of hand tools. Experienced engineers can undertake any project build such as model making.

The work is carried out in a very friendly atmosphere and experienced engineers share their experience.

This is a workshop where you will work on your own project with guidance from the tutor.
