Brynmill Park![]() The Discovery Centre is complete!After months of hard work and planning the new Discovery Centre opened its doors on Saturday 21st June. The Centre provides the park with a focus for exploring its history and wildlife. The large one way glass window enables visitors to view birds in their natural habitat without disturbing them. The building also contains a permanent exhibition about the park and is an ideal base for educational actives. Kiosk Facilities are due to be in place soon. Fun Day event - Saturday 27 September Join us this Saturday to help celebrate the completion of the project when we are holding a fabulous family fun day. The event is free to attend and is taking place between 12pm - 6pm. Highlights include live entertainment, a variety of market stalls and a dog show. Why not bring along a picnic and soak up the atmosphere. History of the bid Recognised by CADW (register of Landscapes, Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales) as a grade II listed Park, Brynmill Park belongs to the Victorian era. Steeped in history and interesting facts, a wealth of information is available. In 2006, The Heritage Lottery Fund awarded a grant for the restoration of Brynmill Park. These pages are intended to keep you up to date with the progress of this refurbishment and provide a communication link with the Parks Department of the City and County of Swansea and the public. In 1837 a company formed called the Swansea Waterworks Company. They were given parliamentary powers to construct a reservoir at Brynmill.
