Bonymaen Walk, Ty Draw

This walk has lovely views over Crymlyn Burrows towards Port Talbot before taking you past the site of the former Bonymaen Truant Industrial School, a brutal institution designed for children who were truants.

Directions

• Start at Bonymaen Community Centre, heading towards park going past the takeaway
• Cross road and go down Ty-draw Road, passing park on left
• There is no pavement in parts, use verge and be aware of traffic
• Turn left at end of houses, proceed along uneven path
• Bear right at fork for 30 metres before turning left along path
• Continue to park entrance, passing bowls green on left, on your right is the site of former Bonymaen Truant Industrial School
• Turn left into park through entrance
• Follow path around, passing playground on right
• Turn right out of park and cross road, going past shop towards community centre
