The City Deal includes funding from the UK and Welsh Governments, the public sector and the private sector.

The Swansea City and Waterfront Digital District will include a digital village on Kingsway, featuring incubation spaces and co-working areas for start-up and small businesses working in the ICT, tech and creative industry sectors.

City Deal money will also enable the development of a digital square forming part of the Swansea Central regeneration plans, as well as the digitisation of the indoor arena planned for the LC car park site.

A 'box village' development is also planned for the University of Wales Trinity Saint David's SA1 Swansea Waterfront campus, which will see the conversion of shipping containers to provide flexible, affordable space for start-up companies. This will bring students, academics and businesses together to share expertise and explore new areas for growth.

A Life Science and Well-being Campus network will build on the successful Institute of Life Science initiative at Swansea University, providing a world class integrated clinical research and trials environment, as well as development centres for skills. Life science innovation hubs will be created across the region, in hospital and primary care settings.

All City Deal projects will be underpinned by next generation digital infrastructure, as well as a Skills and Talent initiative that will give local young people a pathway in schools and colleges to access the 10,000 high-quality jobs that will be created over the next 15 years.
