Carers' Emergency Card

The Carer's Emergency Card is a credit-card-sized card which fits easily into a purse or wallet and enables people to quickly identify you as a carer in an emergency.

Carer's Emergency Cards are available free to carers of any age in Swansea.

If you have an accident or emergency, the card will alert the emergency services that there is someone at home who can't manage without help or assistance. They will then contact the number(s) you have provided on the back of the card so that someone can help the person you care for.

The card has space for carers to provide up to two telephone numbers, plus additional essential information if required. It can give carers peace of mind that, should something happen to them or an emergency occurs, the person they care for will not be forgotten, and the emergency services will easily be able to find a telephone number for the most appropriate person(s) to contact.  It may also provide reassurance for people who rely on their carer for everyday support.

The card has been produced in partnership between the Council, Swansea Carers Centre and ABMU Health Board.  It's available free by calling in to Swansea Carers CentreOpens new window (on the corner of Mansel St and Cradock St) or ringing them on 01792 653344.
