Environmental noise action plans and quiet areas

The Welsh Government has produced a Noise Action Plan for Wales 2013 - 2018. The action plan describes how and why environmental noise is managed across Wales.

There is a specific chapter devoted to noise management in the built up area of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. It includes the identification of Quiet Areas and Priority Areas 

Quiet Areas are tranquil public places valued by the local community. The Quiet Areas identified in Swansea can be viewed by following this link Welsh Government | Quiet areasOpens new window  and include :

Priority Areas are clusters of residential properties experiencing high levels of environmental noise. At these locations it is hoped to achieve a reduction in noise levels where practicable.
