Pay by direct debit

This is the easiest and most convenient way to pay your Council Tax.

Online payments

Over the telephone

Call 0300 4562765, lease have your Council Tax account number to hand when you call as well as your debit or a credit card*.

At the Post Office or a Payzone outlet

Payments at the Post Office are made using a magnetic stripe payment card.

If you already have a Post Office payment card, you can use this to pay at any Post Office. If you wish to order a card, contact us and we can issue one.

Payments must be made by cash only. No fee is payable at any Post Office as long as the payment is made with the magnetic stripe card. Your payment will be credited to your Council Tax account within 5 days and you will be issued with a paper receipt when you make the payment.

By cheque

Cheques and postal orders should be crossed and made payable to the 'City and County of Swansea'.

Please write your name, address and Council Tax account number on the back of the cheque and then post it to:

The Head of Financial Services
